Download and install Ledger Wallet™ (formerly Ledger Live)
The Ledger Wallet™ (formerly Ledger Live) is a safe and easy interface for managing your cryptocurrencies using your Ledger device. Unlike most apps, the Ledger Wallet app keeps your data directly on your phone or computer, so there's no need to sign in using an email and password. All that's required is your Ledger device.
You can download the Ledger Wallet app on your desktop computer or your mobile device, and it works with both iOS and Android.
When downloading the app, ensure you choose the version that matches your device. The mobile version is not designed for use on computers and may lead to connection or performance issues. For computers, always download and install the desktop version of the Ledger Wallet app.
The Ledger Wallet app is available on desktop and mobile. While it may be compatible with some iPad models/tablets, we don’t currently support these devices. Furthermore, the Ledger Wallet app isn’t supported on virtual machines.

Troubleshooting
I am not able to log into the Ledger Wallet app with my email
Newer versions of the Ledger Wallet app now feature a 'Log in to Ledger Recover' option during the initial step of the installation process. This option prompts you to enter your Ledger Recover credentials and is specifically designed for subscribers of Ledger Recover, an optional paid service for Ledger users. If you are not a Ledger Recover subscriber, please choose the 'Get started' option instead. This will guide you through the standard setup process for the Ledger Wallet app. Note that the regular setup does not require an email and password, as the Ledger Wallet app is a local application with data stored exclusively on your device.
Next steps
- Take your first steps to set up the Ledger Wallet app with your device.
- Install apps on your device and add your accounts.
As a final note you may want to take a look at our Ledger Recover service - when set up in advance it will enable you to recover access to your assets if you lose your Secret Recovery Phrase - find out more here

Managing Multiple Devices and "Logging In" to Different Wallets (Approx. 180 Words)
A single installation of Ledger Live can manage assets secured by multiple Ledger hardware devices, each holding an entirely separate and distinct wallet. This is incredibly useful for separating your long-term savings from more active trading funds.
- Separate Wallets, One Interface: You can add accounts from Device A and accounts from Device B into the same Ledger Live app. The app will clearly label which device controls which account.
- The Right Key for the Right Lock: To manage (send, swap, stake) the funds in a specific account, you must connect the Ledger device associated with that account. If you try to send Bitcoin from an account linked to Device A, but you have Device B plugged in and unlocked, the transaction will fail. Ledger Live knows the correct public key and requires the corresponding private key (which is locked inside the correct device).
- Restoring Your "Login": If you lose or break your Ledger device, your "login" (access to your funds) is not lost. You purchase a new Ledger device and use your 24-word Secret Recovery Phrase to restore it. This process recreates the master private key on the new device's secure chip, effectively transferring the "key" to your new hardware, and you simply reconnect to Ledger Live.
